Three Letter Abbreviation
Three Letter Abbreviations, also known as 3ltr or TLA, are abbreviations used in CRSS to refer to nations and companies in code and text more easily.
The 'system' doesn't have any official standards apart from (obviously) requiring exactly three letters.
Having a TLA is required to officially register a nation or company in any CRSS server.
Guides
[edit | edit source]Due to being quite an abstract system, there isn't a 'formula' for 'a perfect TLA', but we can still try and help you understand how it is done by most existing things.
Simple TLA
[edit | edit source]If your company or nation has exactly three words in its name, you're in luck! You can simply take the initials. That's what the 'Republic of ###' nations tend to do:
It is also the case for other kinds of nations:
Abstract TLA
[edit | edit source]If the name is a single word or has more than three, you can pick what sounds best for you. There's no wrong or right way to do it, just pick whatever you find best, as long as it isn't already taken. Here are some examples of how nations and companies do their TLA:

Check for duplicates
[edit | edit source]If you want to check if the TLA is already taken, search for your planned TLA in the CRSS Wiki, be it by putting it in the URL or by using the actual search feature, or check the GitHub repo for all the TLAs in use.
(Both the GitHub and Wiki are pending full implementation of TLAs, this section was written in advance of the actual requirement of TLAs to make your nation/company exist)
